Lara Dee

Registered Nurse, Midwife

Lara completed a double degree Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery in 2012 at La Trobe University, Victoria. Over the next few years, Lara worked as both a Midwife, and as a Nurse in the Emergency Department. It was here that her interest in caring for high-risk pregnancies and managing emergency situations grew, which lead her to Intensive Care.

Lara remained working in Intensive Care, where she completed a post-graduate degree in Intensive Care Nursing. Throughout this time, Lara continued pursuing her passion for Midwifery -- caring for women with low-risk, and high-risk pregnancies, throughout the antenatal and post-natal period.

Most recently, Lara has broadened her practice undertaking further study to undertake accreditation as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).  This qualifies Lara to provide comprehensive advice on a range of breastfeeding and lactation-related concerns.

Lara’s aim is to guide women and their families through the journey of pregnancy, post-partum and beyond, by empowering them with the knowledge to make informed decisions which meet their individual goals.

Outside of work, Lara stays busy caring for her young son, and a very sweet Labrador puppy. She enjoys travelling, reading a good book, and catching up with friends.
