Dr James Kelly completed his medical degree at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney, in 2015. Before entering general practice, he spent several years working in acute hospital medicine and critical care at St Vincent’s Hospital, including Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. This experience continues to shape the calm, thorough approach he brings to his consultations.

James enjoys the breadth of general practice and cares for patients of all ages. He has completed a Graduate Diploma in Child Health through Sydney Children’s Hospital, and has particular interests in chronic and complex care, chronic pain, diabetes and metabolic health. He is also an authorised continuing ADHD stimulant prescriber. James values evidence-based care and works collaboratively with patients to develop practical plans that fit their individual goals.

Beyond the consulting room, James is Deputy Chair of the RACGP NSW/ACT Faculty. In this role, he advocates for general practice and contributes to policy discussions about the future of primary care in Australia. He is particularly interested in health-system reform and ensuring that high-quality, accessible general practice remains at the centre of the healthcare system.

Outside the clinic, James enjoys making fresh pasta, Sunday morning swims at Nielsen Park, and cheerfully unsuccessful attempts to master the piano. He also spends much of his free time being managed by his mischievous Brussels Griffons, Dolores and George.
