Referrals

For your convenience you can now order repeat specialist referrals or copies of lost referrals online.

 

Online specialist referral requests are suitable if:

 

  1. You have had a previous referral to your specialist issued to you by Double Bay Doctors in the last 18 months and it is due for renewal; or,

  2. You have lost your referral and require a new copy of your referral.

Referrals to specialists that you have not previously been referred to, or renewed mental health care plans, are not suitable for this service.

PLEASE ALLOW 5 BUSINESS DAYS FOR YOUR DOCTOR TO REVIEW AND PROCESS YOUR REQUEST.

 

If you require your repeat referral sooner than this, please book an appointment with your doctor.

 

Unfortunately our reception team are unable to expedite repeat referral requests, and will recommend you make an appointment if you call to request your referral sooner than 5 business days.

A $35.00 fee applies for this service.

How it works...

 

  1. When you request a referral through this service, your Double Bay Doctors GP will review your medical history and confirm your eligibility for a repeat referral.

  2. You will receive a secure SMS update to confirm if your request has been approved within 5 business days.

  3. When you complete your request, you can choose how you would like to receive your referral: by email; collection from Double Bay Doctors; or have your referral faxed to your specialist.

  4.  To lodge your request you will be required to provide your credit card details. Your credit card will only be charged if your request approved.​

  5. If your request is not approved, you will receive an SMS update requesting you to make an appointment.

Referral amendments or reprints...

If you require an amendment to the addressee on your referral, for instance if the specialist you were referred to has a long waiting list, or if you have lost your referral and require another copy, please send a request to info@doublebaydoctors.com. Please include the details of the new specialist you would like to be referred to, if known.

There is no fee to reprint or amend the addressee of a referral.
