DR NIGEL TAY

General Practitioner
Dr Nigel Tay has been practising medicine since 2012, graduating from the National University of Singapore. He gained extensive hospital experience across multiple medical and surgical specialties before transitioning into primary care. Over the past eight years, he has completed postgraduate Fellowships in both Urgent Care and General Practice in New Zealand, before relocating to Australia in September 2025. Since then, he has been working across general practice and skin cancer medicine in Wollongong.
With additional postgraduate qualifications in Sports Medicine and Skin Cancer Medicine, Dr Tay regularly manages sport-related orthopaedic conditions, and conducts full skin and mole checks. His procedural skills include punch and excisional biopsies, cryotherapy, curettage, cautery, and simple to complex excisions and closures, including flaps and grafts.
Dr Tay is committed to providing high-quality, personalised, evidence-based care aligned with current treatment guidelines. He values creating a safe, non-judgemental environment for all patients and is a strong advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Outside of work, Nigel is passionate about sport and enjoys swimming, tennis, water polo, and gym training. A travel enthusiast and self-confessed foodie, he loves exploring new cuisines and spending quality time with friends and family.
