Vyepti Infusions
Vyepti (eptinezumab) is a prescription medication used for the prevention of migraine in adults who experience frequent migraine attacks. It is administered via a 30-minute intravenous (IV) infusion every 12 weeks.
At Double Bay Doctors, we offer Vyepti infusions in a private, fully equipped treatment room with experienced clinical staff.

HOW VYEPTI WORKS
Vyepti® is part of a class of medications known as CGRP (calcitonin gene-related peptide) monoclonal antibodies. It works by targeting and blocking CGRP – a protein thought to play a key role in migraine attacks.
By preventing this protein from binding to its receptor, Vyepti® helps reduce the frequency and severity of migraines before they start.
WHO IS VYEPTI SUITABLE FOR?
Vyepti may be suitable for patients who:
-
Experience frequent migraine attacks (typically 4 or more days per month)
-
Have not responded well to or cannot tolerate other preventative migraine treatments
-
Are under the care of a neurologist or headache specialist and have a valid prescription for Vyepti
Please note: Vyepti is not used for treating acute migraine attacks or other types of headache disorders.
RISKS & SIDE EFFECTS
Vyepti is generally well tolerated, and most patients do not experience significant side effects. However, as with all prescription medications, some risks are involved.
Possible side effects may include:
-
Mild cold-like symptoms such as a runny nose or sore throat
-
Tiredness, nausea or dizziness
-
Reactions during or after the infusion such as flushing, itchiness, rash or shortness of breath
-
Discomfort at the injection site
In rare cases, more serious allergic reactions (including anaphylaxis) can occur. While this is uncommon, our team is trained to manage this if needed.
Before your infusion, your doctor will talk you through the potential risks and answer any questions you may have. You’ll also be closely monitored during and after the infusion to ensure your comfort and safety.
